I will understand everything has its plan, either way.
Listening to Wilco, all albums. Wonderfulness.
Been a busy, great past two days. Thursday I had photo class and the teacher was great--learned about flash and night photography. Of course the lesson revolved around purchasing a separate flash-not one built in to the camera which of course costs more $$. After class, grabbed a sandwich at Bar Gurion, and had one of the guys working there say "hi" to me. Last time I saw that guy he turned to one of the other guys and that he didn't speak English and for them to help me. Thursday, he all of a sudden spoke English. It was very strange. Anyway, Jeru-Maya picked me up and we went to The Barby to see Geva Alon. While she parked her car, I went to get my ticket (had purchased it online in advance). The woman said my name wasn't on the list so I showed her the confirmation e-mail on my blackberry but the Hebrew came out as random characters, so she said "come with me" so we walked into the venue, where Grizzly Bear was playing on the radio pre-show (Israel's catching up to good music!!) and took me backstage, thru Geva Alon's dressing room with him and his crew, and to the office to use the computer to show her the confirmation e-mail. She showed me, I walked back out and the show began. Pretty awesome. I went from almost not getting in, to going backstage. Ha. Fun show, Maya and I enjoyed it. Relaxation is by far the best song. After the show, met up with Becky, Alison and Michel at a bar on Nachalat Binyamin. It started to pour. Lizzle caled me from New Zealand, she's having a wonderful time. I can't wait for her to get to Israel.
I went to bed at 3 and was up at 8 to go back to Nachalat Binyamin for a photography field trip. There is an artists market there every Tuesday and Friday, quite touristy although there are some nice things, including my favorite bracelet I never take off. We walked around, asked people if we could take their portrait...had people say no, and an adorable old woman "You don't like my art? You like my face?" It was really cute. I will post pictures as soon as I have my MAC back! it was a fun time, and got some great shots including a little girl posing for all of us and her mother looking at me like, "I know she's cute but what's going on here?" and the girl just loved being the center of attention. Afterwards met up with Amanda and Chen and had delicious challah french toast at Lulu. Always good laughs with those two. Came home, nap-aroo time, and then went to Becky's and made eggplant parm. yum yum yum. We met up with Amanda and Chen and attempted to go to Maoz Bar (since there aren't MANY really cool bars in tel aviv, when a new one opens, it gets too packed too fast so....that's what happened here), so instead we stumbled upon "Garden Wine Bar" which was exactly as it's name. A garden wine bar. There was a private party so we had a room to ourselves. Great service, wine and atmosphere.
Now I think it's time for me to go back to bed. That's what Shabbat is for, to do a whole lot of nothing. Atleast that's how I've been observing it.
